Endorsement Application Steps
Work through these in order. This sequence is the fastest way to move from out-of-state license to a board-cleared application in Georgia.

Earn a Master's Degree in SLP
Complete a master's or higher degree with a major emphasis in speech-language pathology from an accredited program. Must incorporate the academic coursework and supervised training hours established by the Board.

Pass the Praxis Examination
Achieve a passing score on the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology, as approved by the Board. The current passing score is 162.

Complete Professional Experience (PCE/RPE)
Complete the required Paid Clinical Experience (PCE) or Required Professional Experience (RPE) under supervision. Obtain the PCE/RPE license ($40) first to practice during this period.

Submit Full License Application
Submit the SLP application ($120) to the Board. Include official transcripts, Praxis scores, professional experience verification, and criminal background check with fingerprinting.

How much does a Georgia SLP license cost?
The initial application fee is $120 (includes $10 mail-in processing). A PCE/RPE license for the clinical fellowship costs $40. Biennial renewal is $70, due by March 31 of odd-numbered years.
What are the CE requirements for Georgia SLP renewal?
Georgia requires 2.0 CEUs (equivalent to 20 clock hours) every two years. A maximum of 2 hours per cycle can be in ethics/documentation topics. No more than 10 clock hours can be acquired in any one 24-hour period. Requirements are pro-rated for new licensees.
How long does the Georgia SLP application take?
Application processing takes 4 to 8 weeks. The Board meets monthly to review applications, so timing depends on when your complete application is received relative to the next Board meeting.
